Khereshwar Temple

The Khereshwar Temple is located in the Ganges basin of the small village of Tajpur Rasulpur, 5 km from Aligarh.

The Khereshwar Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple is famous for its magnificent architecture along with carved ceilings made of metal wall decorations. Due to its small size, Shivaringa is commonly referred to as the “invisible Shivaringa”. Besides Shiva, the shrine also has idols of other Hindu gods.

Raja Sati Prasad built the Khereshwar Temple in commemoration of his spouse, the Queen. Visitors usually spend 23 hours in the temple. At sunset, temples usually welcome many visitors. The temple lights up during the Shivaratri festival. This is an ideal time to visit the temple.
