Sir Syed House Museum
The Syed House Museum at Aligarh Muslim University is a well-known art gallery among locals. The museum was once the home of Sir Syed, the founder of Mohammedan Anglo Oriental College (which became Aligarh Muslim University in 1920).
The art gallery was established with the aim of raising people’s awareness of Sir Sayyid’s contribution to education and social improvement. The Syed House Museum portrays Sir Sayyid’s personal life through his belongings and introduces the history of AMU through photographs and written records.
The Sir Said House Museum is divided into three galleries. The first part depicts the life of Sir Syed and his companions. The second gallery shows the detailed development stage of Aligarh Muslim University, and the third gallery shows images of the AMU campus and its Deputy Prime Minister. The gallery also contains photos of university events and achievements that took place throughout the years.
